Evalution Question Two

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary text?

When we was first given the task of doing a music video and along side it the ancillary task of a digipak and magazine insert we always thought that there would have to be one clear link between all three which was the graffiti wall, which is something we didn't originally plan to do.

Once we had done majority of filming we then turned our attention to our ancillary tasks which was like starting from the beginning when we first started the project. We had to think back to our chosen genre and what our target audience was. From this we want to make it colourful and appeal to our target audience. We tried making our own background with using the mixture of colours like what Katy Perry had done for her magazine insert. How the colours all lead into Katy Perry to make her the main focus is the idea we wanted, but after playing around on photo shop we wasn't successful.

That then took us back to square one with what to do then, we then found the photo of the graffiti wall which work well as it had all the colours we want to use to appeal to our target audience but still have the feminine feel to it still. The graffiti wall then worked in our favour to make the link to our main product to our ancillary texts.
